Wa : The Spirit of Harmony and Japanese Design Today, an exhibition prepared by the Japan Foundation, is the third presentation of the world's best design practice at the Institute of Industrial Design as a part of Design Your Profit project.

Title WA: Harmony refers to the fundamental values of Japanese culture. Curators prove that harmony and balance are a characteristic of Japanese design in which the opposite at first glance, phenomena exist in a perfect harmony, creating a unique value.
The combination of art and design, craft and industrial production has been practiced by Japanese designers from the beginning of the industrial revolution. Yanagi Muneyoshi designer pointed this out already in 1937. Today, this compatibility is still very strong and is evident not only in products by major designers like Naoto Fukasawa.
It is also an important part of a fusion between Asian and Western culture, acting on the strength of Japan and Japanese design in the world.

Wa : The Spirit of Harmony and Japanese Design Today exhibition, presents 161 everyday objects, originating primarily from recent years and several design icons postwar years. Divided into sections according to 12 categories and 6 key words, simply illustrates the phenomenon of Japanese design.

We show it in order not to realize the dream of Poland as the second Japan. We hope that Polish entrepreneurs and designers, to whom exhibition is especially addressed, will find a lot of inspiration in it to design and implement to production well-designed objects. And that will rise to harmonious cooperation.
